| Owens Antics "Kevin Babula " 49ers Paradise Fan Press 10.18.2002 We as 49er fans have grown accustom to shaking our heads at some of Terrell Owens antics. I admit that as much as I loath the Dallas Cowboys the "Star Incident" was a bit over-the line. I know that the well publicized feud with him and Mooch was mostly his fault. I also know that he often causes more harm than harmony in the locker room as well as the sidelines. But I can honestly say that the "Sharpie-Gate" incident from this past Monday night's game didn't bother me. As a matter of fact I found it quite funny. I read Kevin Lynch's column in the San Francisco Chronicle, where he mentions that Dennis Green was "disgusted" by the act. DENNIS GREEN!!! The Dennis Green?!?!?! The same Dennis Green that coached Randy Moss for 4 seasons? The same Dennis Green that watched his STAR receiver squirt an official with a water bottle?!?!?! The Same Dennis Green that stood back and watched Randy Moss and Cris Carter nearly come to blows on the sideline? Dennis Green should look in the mirror before he comments on how someonelse's coaching discipline techniques.
What Dennis Green should be "disgusted" over is how he let a receiver with as much god-given ability as Randy Moss take plays off. I know Terrell is no choir boy, but the man NEVER takes plays off. I think people should realize just how amazing it was that Terrell made that whole incident come to life. He knew the Niners were down by 1. He knew the defense had just got the ball back. And what's more is he KNEW he was going to put that ball in the end-zone. His will to win in that situation should be applauded. The only reason that marker was in his shoe was he KNEW he was going to score. That's what everyone should be talking about. Terrell Owens is a winner. That's what people should be saying. Dennis Green should keep quiet and remember if he wants to comment on "disgusting" acts, he should look at some old tapes of his team!
