As for the draft, I agree that we MUST draft a DE with the first pick we make. I think then though, we could go for oline, or rb. A lb would be nice, and I really feel we need to get a TE somewhere in the first four rounds this year. We have no depth there behind Clark. Overall though, I think the niners dont look too bad tfor this year. Now it appears that their defense will be better than last year, as we gain more experience. Smith certainly helps replace tubbs and norton, and if ulbrich or a draftee produce, we could actually have a better group of lbs than last year. The only big concern, and it is big, is at the rb situation. If we can't find a gem in the draft, or have paul smith or jonas lewis come on strong, it could be what kills in 2001. But I'm not in favor oftaking a big chance with 1st round rb or with a big free agent. Our defense is what lost games for us last year, and its pointless to spend are little money on a rb when we need d. I feel like our rb situation will end up ok though, and have high hopes for jonas lewis. If we can get gragg back, someone will be able to run with that line in front of them.
