Boy, you guys sure are quiet out here in 9er land. But, news is swirling about Jerry Rice. It seems as though he passed his physical with the Seahawks, which is not surprising to any of us who have studied what kind of monster he is. This guy has a training schedule that would make any drill sergeant on "Boot Camp" cry in their fatigues. It's tougher than my mom's Thanksgiving turkey, and let me tell you. that's pretty stinkin tough. Tough, just like Madden's face is tough and leathery. You get the point.

Jerry would be rejoining a couple of people who helped him become the greatest WR ever. Mike Holmgren, enough said there, and Ricky Watters was a 9er.

If he signs, he will be the #1 starter, along side 2nd year guy Darrell Jackson, who was VERY impressive as a rookie last year. He will be a great run blocker for Watters and Shawn Alexander, who was also a looker as a rookie.

I guess he has said a couple of times that he wants to play in Oakland. You know, have any of you ever heard the term, "shoot me now?" I remember when Joe Montana was being shopped around to different teams when he wanted to make his comeback. I remember hearing that the Raiders were one of the teams seriously looking at him. I almost cried!!! I would have boycotted football for the rest of my life. There are only a few teams in the NFL that I just can't stand and Oakland and Denver are at the top of that list.

So the teams that I see that are interested in Rice are: Seattle (not a bad place), Cleveland (I don't think so), Detroit (this wouldn't be bad, to be back with Matt Millen), New York Jets (I don't know if this would be a bad place; Chrebet could use the help), and Tampa Bay ( I don't think they have the $$ left after signing Johnson and Rice, but that would solidify their super bowl win that I predicted for this year).

In other news.

Charlie Garner. I do believe I said something a couple weeks ago to this effect: Charlie Garner will be back in San Fran next year.

Nobody else is out there who will make him the featured back like he wants. He's gonna whine and cry, but I still say that he'll be in the scarlet and gold next year. And that's fine, because he'll come with an EXTREMELY lower price tag. Very smart on Walsh's part.

Signing of Smith on defense. Let everything that has breath. breathe that sigh of releafe. Good grief, we needed that.

Ken Norton JR. For the love of God, NO!!! I heard that he's looking to the Ray-dahs too!!! Well, they are the team for vet's now, so I guess I can't disagree. I'd almost rather see him play in Jacksonville, somewhere where nobody cares. He'll do good, and he can still be respected. Learn from Ronnie Lott, buddy. Going there from SF is not a smart plan. You will be lost in the shadow of the Giant Head, Al Davis. Speaking of leathery.

Well, you all reply here, huh? I throw out a lot of opinions, and I like to have responses. Sit your butt up in your chair and tell me what you think!!! And, hey. Give Eric a raft of crap, too. He's an IOWA fan. BOOOOOOO!!!!

Just kidding, peace, bro.
