Can Garrison make a comeback

Can Garrison make a comeback? I hope so. Although it does not appear to be very likely. Garrison such a sparkplug for us. I recall when we first sigined him to a deal. I was ecstatic. No more Derrick Loville, not that he was all that bad, but a starter he was not. That was proven by the numbers that he produced in the starting roll after Ricky bolted for Philly.

We need a tailback like Garrison, one who acts like he does, carries himself the way he does and plays the way he does. The only problem I see there is that there are no backs that we have access to with those attributes besides Garrison himself. He was a mainstay of the Niner offense from 98 til the freak injury that stole seems to have stolen his career from under him. And the break that he suffered in that game against Atlanta in the playoffs not only stopped his career short but also seems to have taken Steve Youngs career. Because if Hearst is in the Arizona game on that awful monday game, he does not miss the block on Aeneas Williams that brain child Lawrence Phillips did! And the blitzing corner never gets to Young at all.

Then we have Garner. While I like the mans game, I do not like his attitude. You never heard from Garrison the garbage that has been spewing out of Garner and his agents mouths. I do believe that if Hearst was in this same situation that he would understand the 49ers plight and wait until after June 1st and then sign with them. Granted that is a long time into the year to wait, bu that is the kind of man that Garrison is.

Talk about it in the 49ers Forum
