| Niners return to the spotlight "Cory Rivera" 49ers Paradise Fan Press 04.02.2002 After a suprising 12-4 season, the San Francisco 49ers return the NFL spotlight with three Monday night games, an apperance in the season opener against the New York Giants, and a preseason game in Japan. The Niners will play in Japan in the American Bowl against the Redskins during the preseason. They will travel to New York to meet the Giants in the season opener on Thursday, Sept. 5th. They also play in three Monday night games, at Seattle on Oct. 14, at home against Philly on Nov. 25, and a showdown at St. Louis on Dec. 30 in the final Monday night game of the season. San Francisco will also play at Arizona on Saturday, Dec. 21 in a game where they will have the national spotlight all to themselves.
The 2002 schedule has proven that the San Francisco 49ers are once again one of the NFL premier teams.
